Foundation Scholarships Due- February 28

The Bureau County Farm Bureau Foundation is pleased to announce that they are offering scholarships to area students majoring in agriculture. Over the last twenty-three years, the Foundation has awarded $84,250 to deserving college students.  Last year alone the Foundation distributed $8,250 to area students. READ MORE

Young Leader FB ACT Contact Incentive Program a Success

Legislative contacts are a top priority of the Farm Bureau organization. This is why Farm Bureau created FB ACT. This program, available to all members, ensures a convenient way to learn about agricultural issues and become involved in the legislative process. YL Discussion Meet Contestants Compete for District Title

Congratulations to Gracelynn Dale of Bureau County and Kye Witek of Lee County who have advanced on to the state Young Leader Discussion Meet, which will be held in December at the Illinois Farm Bureau Annual Meeting in Chicago. Also, congratulations on great discussion by Rebekah Brennan of LaSalle County and Heather Kiner of LaSalle County as they took part in a great competition. READ MORE

Foundation Fundraising Events A Success

The eighth annual Bureau and Lee County Ag in the Classroom Golf outing was on June 29th at Chapel Hill Golf Course in Princeton and the Sixth annual Bureau County Tractor Trek was held Sunday, June 25th in the southern part of Bureau County.  READ MORE 

First Annual Master Showmanship Contest Held

What a great turnout for our 1st Annual Master Showmanship Contest on Friday, July 21 at the Bureau County 4-H Fair.  The Master Showmanship Contest tests individual’s skills and knowledge of showing beef, swine and sheep.  READ MORE

Bureau County AgVocate Award Winner Named

During July's Beef and Ag Days in Princeton, the Bureau County Farm Bureau awarded the second annual Bureau County AgVocate Award.  This award provides an opportunity for Bureau County Farm Bureau to recognize families and/or individuals who have made an impact on Bureau County agriculture through leadership and service. Seven students receive Farm Bureau Foundation scholarships

Seven Bureau County students will receive financial assistance from the Bureau County Farm Bureau Foundation to help cover costs associated with continuing their education. The Foundation Board of Directors has named Skyler Brazel of Tiskilwa, Chase Gripp of Sheffield, Kaitlyn Hildebrand of Ohio, Alexa Jacobs of Walnut, Luke Schultz of Princeton, Malena Wheeler of Tiskilwa and Cole Wright of Bradford as the 2017 recipients of the Bureau County Farm Bureau Foundation Scholarships. Water Testing Program Available

The Bureau County Farm Bureau, has teamed up with Nutrient Stewardship of Northern Illinois to host free water testing open house days for private landowners and operators. Beginning in June, an open house from 8 a.m. to 10 a.m. will be held each Friday at the Bureau County Farm Bureau, 535 Elm Place, in Princeton. READ MORE

Plat Books and Rural Directories Available

The 2017 Rockford Map plat book accurately displays parcel boundaries, acreage data, roadways, waterways, railways, section lines, municipal boundaries, and includes an index to owners. An additional map feature included in the new plat book is aerial map images. An aerial map lies opposite each township parcel map, and is very useful in providing a quick gauge to the use of a particular parcel. Latitude/Longitude grids for GPS reference are also provided along with a rural addressing grid.  READ MORE

FOID Card Application Changes

*Due to the following change the Bureau County Farm Bureau will no longer be offering FOID card services.  We apologize for any inconvience.*

The Illinois State Police (ISP) announced on March 6, 2015, the agency will now be accepting on-line FOID applications, to provide a more streamlined modernized application process.  READ MORE
