Summer Intern Wraps up Her Duties

Hello! My name is Alexa Jacobs and I am the 2017 Bureau County Farm Bureau Summer Intern. This summer I have had the privilege of interning for Jill Frueh at the Farm Bureau and learning about what the Farm Bureau organization does in our community. Some of my duties this summer have included presenting lessons about the water cycle at the county’s library programs, preparing Farm Fresh Friday flyers for the Princeton Farmers’ Market, and helping get Ag in the Classroom lessons ready to go for this upcoming year. I was also able to help host the Ag Olympics and first ever Bureau County Master Showmanship contest at the 4-H fair.

This coming fall I will be starting my freshman year at Southern Illinois University Carbondale and majoring in Agriculture Education. The experiences I have had this summer working with Jill will greatly help me in both my schooling and future career. I have learned a lot in my summer with the Farm Bureau and have enjoyed my time here. I would like to extend my thanks to Jill and the rest of the Farm Bureau Staff, Board Members and all the members for providing me with such a great opportunity. I am very grateful for the knowledge, friendships, and memories I have gained from this internship and I know I will carry them with me as I head towards my future!
