SUMMARY:Large Animal Rescue Operations Course
DESCRIPTION:Join the Bureau & Putnam EMAs and the Bureau & Marshall-Putnam Farm Bureaus on Sunday\, June 1st at 9:00 a.m. at the Bureau County Fair Grounds in Princeton for an 8-hour rescue course targeted at first responders in the area. \nThis class is being designed to bring operations level information to Illinois emergency first responders in the area of large animal rescue. Responders include but are not limited to members for fire\, police\, EMS\, sheriff departments\, DNR and Forest Preserve Officers. \nLarge animals will include but are not limited to horses\, cows\, pigs\, sheep\, lamas and alpacas; however\, the horse and cow will be used as the teaching model. \nThe course will cover the following subjects: classroom review of L.A.R.A. information\, Animal haltering drills\, and basic rescue drag drills\, rescue glide drills\, trailer safety inspections\, simple vertical lifts drills\, and more. \n

DESCRIPTION:Farm Bureau Foundation to Sponsor a Tractor Trek to support Ag in the Classroom \n Save the Date!!!  The Bureau County Farm Bureau Foundation is putting the final touches on plans for our 13th annual Tractor Trek.  The Tractor Trek will be held on Saturday\, June 7th\, rain\, or shine!  This year the event will be leaving from the Bureau County Fair Grounds in Princeton\, for a ride through a portion of Bureau County. \nParticipants will have the opportunity to share the exciting event with other antique tractor enthusiasts as they travel through a portion of Bureau County.  Pre-registration is required by completing a registration form by May 30th.  There is a registration fee of $50. \nRefreshments\, lunch\, and a fun-filled experience will be provided. SUMMARY:Golf Outing
DESCRIPTION:Golf Outing Bureau and Lee County Farm Bureaus will be hosting their 16th Annual Golf Outing for supporters of Ag in the Classroom. The outing will be held on Thursday\, June 19th at Shady Oaks Country Club in Sublette. The Tournament will be a shot-gun start\, 4- person scramble. Tee-time is 9 a.m. and lunch (will be served for all teams during the event. Proceeds from the tournament will benefit the Bureau and Lee County Ag in the Classroom programs. \nToday’s youth are two and three generations removed from the farm. That’s why we feel it is so important to bring agriculture awareness to local students. Supporting the Ag in the Classroom program helps us provide free agriculture materials\, presentations and resources to local teachers and classrooms in Bureau and Lee Counties. So\, whether you consider yourself “good on the green” or just want to have a fun day out\, this is the tournament for you! \nPolish up your clubs and support a good cause. Team fees are $250 for Basic Registration\, $275 for Super Registration and $300 for Premium Registration. Registration includes 18-holes of golf\, ½ cart and lunch. If you are not a golfer\, but would like to support this event\, several sponsorship packages are also available. Registration is suggested by June 1. \nRegistration after the deadline will be accepted if space is available. Join us when we explore this incredible land by train\, gondola\, boat\, bus and air. The adventure runs February 23 – March 12\, 2026. \n  \nFor those interested in learning about the trip\, Farm Bureau will be hosting an informational meeting on Friday\, June 27th at 10:00 a.m. at the Bureau County Farm Bureau in Princeton. \n  \nDuring the meeting we will describe some of the wonderful sights you will see on this trip and answer any questions you might have.
