Legislative contacts are a top priority of the Farm Bureau organization. This is why Farm Bureau created FB ACT. This program, available to all members, ensures a convenient way to learn about agricultural issues and become involved in the legislative process. This year, the Young Leaders Committee worked to encourage more members to become further engaged in the FB ACT program.
Starting in January, each time an action request was sent by Illinois Farm Bureau, Facebook posts and texts went to members giving information about the issue at hand and asking for contacts to be made. Each time a member made a contact they were entered into a drawing. At the conclusion of each action request, a $25 gift certificate to Wyanet Locker was drawn. At the end of the year, drawings were also held for new responders, those who responded to all requests and then a grand prize drawing.
In all, 108 contacts were made from 4 action requests by 50 members within the county. This raised our county’s average action request response from an average of 9.3 members per request last year to 27 members per request this year.
Congratulations and thank you to all the winners of this year’s FB ACT Incentive Contest:
